The Animated Series' Creator Has Seen Fans' Second Season Bingo Cards — With Some Good News

The much-anticipated second season of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel arrives on the streaming platform this week, and audience theories has been rampant.

Season 1 introduces a diverse group of personalities living within the afterlife, pits them against each other accompanied by musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and establishes tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that drive audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season vary widely, but certain threads emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with audience demands as the main goal," the creator commented recently. "But I believe that me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by the production companies, which produce the series.

That might mean viewers have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how fast season 2 progresses, and how much of what they're anticipating unfolds this season.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some really amazing reveals, some really cool backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — particularly in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a couple people make a bingo card about season 2," she says. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've actually done a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
